city swelters

Saturday was highly productive.
In a lazy sort of way.

Drove my parents to JFK (bon voyage!), shaved off Hunter's beard (!!!), had lunch at a street fair (when street meat is acceptable), bought new magazines (I found you, Industrie),  browsed some books, saw Cyrus (John C Reilly is becoming Cro-Magnon man, you guys.), had tons of beers outside and then walked home...where we are still working on the apartment, but the front room is sorta done.

A favorite old thrifted dress and my embroidered Osborn oxfords.

BYE BYE BEARD! I talked him into keeping sideburns...

MUST get this book-  I read the first one. It;s all really trashy dirt on old Hollywood. The first one had the story of Charlie Chaplin's love for a pre-teen and the first thing I saw when I opened the book above was a story about James Dean and his love for S&M (and his raging crabs). WHAT!

INDUSTRIE! FInally. It was pretty unfindable in NYC at one point, but they have it on 14th Street!
Post on this is necessary, obvs. Forthcoming.

The front room of the apartment is really feeling like me! We just need a some chairs and it will be ready for ultimate loungetimes.

A few things of note:
That Jabberjaw 7" has a really rad version of Rock Star by Hole, I think I might make a video of the music playing for TheReal90s.
The framed art on the bottom is a piece by Brendan; it has a page out of his 7th grade sketchbook that he gave me- it's the cover to the Singles soundtrack ! HA.
All my Playboys from the 70s are stacked on top of my Lula archive; it seems to make sense.

Can't wait to do a big apartment post when it's finally done...

ps. White Lightning was Blogger's "Blog of Note" this week! SO cool, thanks Blogger. Hello to all the new people reading and commenting !

Now go eat some hot dogs, you hot dog.

Loving your new tumblr. I'm only 20 but someone all that stuff seems really familiar to me. I don't think I ever truly left the 90's either.

Rather crass I know, however I think it's worth mentioning. The pic of you in your dress is right above the pic of the side-burn shavings. Looks like someone took the razor to their crotch, ha ha, scroll back up and look at it. It really works. Good times. Love the blog. BTW.
