Must Have Now: Karen Elson NineWest
A few months ago I had the unbelievably good fortune to meet the Ginger Queen Of My Teenage Dreams, Ms Karen Elson.
She wasn't posed like this, but wouldn't it be great if she was?
I perused her collection for NineWest and we talked about all sorts of fantastic things like her inspirations (great old vintage you'd find in an attic), her other ambitions (dreams of a make up line???) and how awesome my outfit was (sorry, I can't get a compliment like that and not share).
My top pick of the entire thing is The Ghost; the vintagey wedge (that she is wearing up therr). I luuuuvvvvvvvv them. I really do.
Total Dream Scene, right?

It's sooooo nice of Jack & Lazaro to make their Spring shoes expressly for me! What a lovely tribute you guys, rilly, it warms my heartplace.
These are gorgeous and I cannot wait to find a way to own these dreamweavers. I can't tell what all the materials are- Is there neoprene up in this business? It's all so much, I am overcome.

My most recent (and most awesome) new gig is as a staff writer for Rookie, the incredible new site for teenage girls (and everyone, as far as I am concerned) that Tavi launched this month.
My first thing up is a playlist for September which is personal for me- all these songs feel like (and represent in my memory) crushes, heartbreak, first love, last love, new love, new beginnings!

Today's Special: LiteBrite
So we've got a real FAUX FALL happening here. It's grey, and it's rainy but it's oddly humid and my hair is in a perma-Gilda (but like, not cute).
So I do what I can; I wear a jacket, I keep the leg bare, I wear shoes high enough to keep me out of puddles and I look for color combinations that keep me findable in the monsoon.
These are favorite items that I've never combined in this way before, way to go me!
The newest addition is the cobalt blue silky lil tank number- a recent OfAKind edition with TUCKER, who I adoooooree. It's a shade of blue that I do not own otherwise and I find myself adding it to really crazy color combinations (there is no other way for me).
Sidenote, I can't tell you how insanely pleasurable it is to have a belt that matches this skirt perfectly for no good reason. IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS, YA KNOW?
And for the record:
These creepers are best ridiculous purchase I've ever made. So choice.

Important Detail: Belgian Shoes
When I was in LA last week me and Preston had and epic Thai dinner with Lesley and Lena and I had a FREAK OUT over Lena's shoes!!!!
I thought they were 60s vintage, I was totally wrong. They are Belgian Shoes and they have a store on the Upper East Side and I have to get a pair RIGHT AWAY. It's the kind of thing where they come in 900 thousand colors and you can make your own combos, which sometimes overwhelms me, but how cool are they? Loved Lena's almost-neon blues and greens.
They are FANTASGREAT, must acquire !!

Obsessed With: Stine Goya
I bought this printed cotton Stine Goya..dress-thing on the internets, sight unseen (it's basically the Sassy magazine pillowcase/dress DIY..it's a rectangle with holes for your body parts that need holes). It was a genius purchase.
It sorta has a rorschach print on it? As you can see here, where I am wearing it in from of a Warhol Rorschach. See? Rorschachs. (Ed Note: it is very pleasing to type that word).
It came with a fabric belt but guess what? SOmetiems I go rogue! Wear my own belt! Patent leather! YOU CAN'T STOP ME!
I wear it just about every third day. To say I luv it is an understatement.
Check it with penny loafers and this perfectly round gold bag that I bought in LA on a thrift trip with Marie (I call it the Golden Snitch. I'm a nerd).
More of the dress at LACMA! They have a whole room of Koons' there. Have you ever seen this much Koons at once? I have not! PS, Preston is wearing an MC Escher tee that glows in the dark (you are welcome for that information)
The second to last pic is from a hotel we stayed in in Minneapolis, it was sorta baller! Clog sandals by Ecoté. Bottom pic shoes are Worishofers.
This dress is a dream. Can't wait til I can wear it with yellow tights and mayyybeee a longsleeved shirt UNDERNEATH? Let's get wild!
